We need all the help we can get to make this dream become a reality!

We have an AWESOME artistic team, spearheaded by Illustrator M Arief Russanto and colorist Mariam Yasser. Cover art by Erwin J. Arroza. And they’ll be bringing to life the story that I wrote.

If you’re an Ernest fan, rest assured to know that over the last couple of years, we poured over the script, originally written as a screenplay, and even got creative feedback from story pros and even jokesters (Josh Holt, Mark Sanderson, Sean Strickland, Caleb Paschall).

Will we ever capture the pure magic of the Ernest films from the 80s and 90s? That’s impossible. But you can be damn sure we tried — even down to the granular level, like how the dialogue reads on the page so that you can hear Ernest’s voice — making this story as strong and Ernest-y as possible.

It’s a fantastic, spooky/scary story like Ernest Scared Stupid, perfect for the Halloween season. With the script finished, it’ll take around a year to produce the entire book.

This is OFFICIAL, Vern. We’re working directly with the rights holders of the film franchise and we’re endorsed by Justin Lloyd — Jim Varney’s nephew and author of his biography, The Importance of Being Ernest. Plus, Maureen “Momo” Edwards is helping us like a producer, marketing manager, and graphics designer all rolled into one.

Please consider helping us fund this project and bring Ernest to life again! KnoWhutIMean, Verns?
